What is writevoid?

writevoid is a browser-based minimalist writing app where text starts to fade and then disappears if you stop typing.

What is the difference between focus and hardcore mode?

Both modes start fading your text after 5 seconds without typing. In focus mode the text fades out over 10 seconds, in hardcore mode over 5 seconds. Start typing again before it is gone and the text comes back.

Can I recover text that has faded away?

No. Once text has fully faded it is deleted permanently. To keep a draft, reach your word goal and download it as a .txt file.

Is writevoid free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no ads.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no login or profile system.

Can I use writevoid offline or on mobile?

Yes. It works in modern desktop and mobile browsers, and you can install it as a progressive web app that works offline after the first visit.
